LOCAL 207 DEMONSTRATION

WE DEMAND RAISES NOW

WEDNESDAY, September 26, 2001

4 P.M. CITY COUNTY BUILDING

Archer on Sept. 18 pulled his puny 1 ˝ % wage offer off the bargaining table. His negotiator, Roger Cheek is now telling us that he won’t give any raise whatsoever. The anti-worker nature of the city administration was also exposed when they tried to prevent payment of wages lost by union members during the emergency evacuation of city offices on Sept. 11.

The union has good contract demands, 6-6-6 on wages, increased union representation rights, better pension, shift premium, vacation, tuition refund and more. It is clearer than ever that we will have to fight for what we need. This is true regardless who is elected Mayor or to the City Council. Our rally on Wednesday, Sept. 25, will show our ability to take action to defend our interests.
